Trevor McLean-Anderson 

Position: Managing Director, Axis House

Over 22 years experience in the Mining Industry and Central African business.  Started as a Chemical Trader at Utec  (Pty) Ltd and then moved onto Duravin Chemicals.  Formed Axis House in 2001 and built the company up to the Global business that it is today. Has a Bachelor of Commerce  from University of Witwatersrand as well as a IMM Graduate School of Marketing Diploma.  Went to St John's College in Johannesburg.

Justine Stubbs

Position: Group General Manager, Axis House

Over 20 years experience in the Mining and Industry. Extensive experience in Central African freight and logistics. Started the business with Trevor McLean-Anderson and currently holds the position of Group General Manager.  Attended Kungsmadsskolan in Sweden.

Kim Walmsley-Crown

Position: Manager International Development, Axis House

20 years in business. Started out as a Financial Manager for Dig Earthworks 1996, joined Geosearch in 2001, following which he had his own insurance replacement business for a number of years. Joined Axis House in 2008, creating the bulk commodity trading desk. Has a Bachelor of Commerce – Unisa – completed accounting articles with Taylor Hoar. 

Cherryl Thomas

Position: Senior Sales Manager, Axis House

Cheryl joined Axis House in 2009. With 12 years of experience in the sales and marketing of consumables and capital equipment into Central Africa, her ability to bridge the gap between the mines technical and procurement department is consistently of great value to us and our clients. 


Yvonne Yates

Position: Commercial Sales, Axis House

Obtained a degree majoring in marketing with a specialization in International Business at  the University of Technology Sydney.  Joined Axis House in 2011, and provides a first class service to new and potential clients.  Regular visits are made to all sites to assess customer needs, ensure all requirements are being met and long term relationships are built and maintained.


Muhammed Vawda

Position: Chemist, Axis House

Recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Wits University.  Has experience in energy optimisation and business development in the Sales and Marketing of chemical raw materials for gold mines.


Adrian Del Pozo

Position: Product Manager, Axis House

Completed MSc Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Spain while working in an oil refinery. Thereafter he moved to Cape Town to study  MSc Project Management at the University of Cape Town.  On completion of his studies in 2013 he joined Axis House.

Allison George

Position: Analytical Chemist, Axis House

Obtained an Analytical Chemistry qualification from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Worked at Mondelez International Inc. and gained experience in carrying out methodologies in routine tasks, performed laboratory tasks including pre an post- analytical tests and provided administrative assistance where needed.  Joined the mining industry in 2016 at Axis House.

Christopher Chikochi

Position: Product Development Chemist, Axis House

Completed an MSc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town (UCT) after graduating with honours in Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from UCT in 2013.  Gained industrial and laboratory experience during Masters studies through projects with Centre for Minerals Research (UCT) at various mineral processing plants in South Africa.  Joined Axis House in 2016.

Jules Kalombo Kitenge

Position: Country Manager DRC, Axis House

Jules has a BTech. degree in Chemical Engineering from CPUT, Cape Town after which he has gained many years experience in mineral processing. As a project metallurgist at the Centre for Minerals Research, based at UCT, his main focus was flotation chemistry, flotation circuit design, hydrodynamics, modelling, communition and circuit optimisation. Jules has worked with many leaders in flotation technology like Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC); JK tech; Metso Minerals; McGill University; Hecettepe University. Jules is known as one of the world leaders in base metal oxide flotation and has vast experience in PGM, phosphate, graphite and fluorspar separation. His knowledge and exposure extends to the electro wining, solvent extraction, solid liquid separation and precipitation processes.

Marcus Manyumwa

Position: Process Metallurgist, Axis House

Gained a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe and started his career as a graduate Metallurgist for a gold mine under ZMDC in Zimbabwe where he was responsible for optimising milling and carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuits. Prior to relocating to RSA he worked for Alex Stewart International as a Process Auditor, inspecting various mines in Zimbabwe. Since then he has worked as a Process Engineer on various projects in metallurgical testing as well as pilot plant and process implementation projects. Expertise includes: geometallurgy, gravity separation, flotation (base metals, gold, pgms and apatite) and test program design and interpretation leading to plant design and optimisation.

Nkwachi Zimba

Position: Zambia based Metallurgist, Axis House

Completed a Bachelors’ degree in Mineral Sciences - Metallurgy and Mineral Processing at The University Of Zambia in 2005. Over 8 years’ experience in the field of Metallurgy. Worked at Konkola Mines before joining Axis House. Has successfully carried out tests on Controlled Potential Sulphidisation (CPS) to improve oxide copper recovery as well as optimising the operations of a Leach Residue flotation pilot plant.

Dr Ratan Chowdhury

Position: Consultant

Since the completion of his Ph.D in 1987 from University of Saskatchewan, Canada, he has been actively involved in industrial process development using synthesis chemistry principles. A prominent example is the Axis House multi tonne scale AM2 hydroxamate flotation reagents manufacturing process. In collaboration with Axis House in Cape Town, opened up the Research and Development lab in Melbourne to provide quality control in AM2 manufacturing, raw materials screening and structural analysis using various spectroscopic tools and chromatographic methods.

Rob Graham

Position: Systems Development, Axis House

Studied B Com Communications at RAU University (now UJ) and then did Honours in B Com Strategic Management at RAU. Spent about 15 years in industrial and corporate sales (Kohler, Mondi, Nampak and Avis Fleet Services). Position at Axis House entails financial control, analysis and systems development.


Tanya Hoekstra

Position: Sales and Marketing Assistant to MD, Axis House

Studied at the AAA School of Advertising. Although new to the Mining Industry, has worked in the Advertising Industry for over 15 years. (Ogilvy, JWT and BrandsRock) servicing Clients like VW, Audi, Smirnoff, Jose Cuervo, Whisky Live Festival, NSRI, WWF and Sweet-Orr & Lybro Industrial Workwear and their various advertising and marketing needs. Currently assisting the MD and breaking new ground in new areas of business for Axis House.  

Carlo Paxton

Position: Supply Chain Manager, Axis House

Studied BCom Accounting from the University of Johannesburg, whereafter he joined Axis House in 2015. Carlo has worked for many years with the end-users on site, in the DRC, and has brought a balanced approach to our supply chain and improved the logistics solutions we offer to our clients.


Jay Pillay

Position: Logistics Manager, Axis House

Joined Axis House in 2007. Over 14 years experience in the Logistics Industry.  Started as a Logistics Co-Ordinator in the Information Technology industry, moved onto Polymers and then Chemicals. Completed Diploma in Logistics Management at UJ in 2013 and currently busy with MBA.

Heather Barham

Position: Financial Manager, Axis House

Over 25 years experience working in the accounting field.  Started Axis House with Trevor McLean- Anderson and currently holds the position of Financial Manager.
