August 2010: Aaron Clack, who comes from an intense logistics background, joins the Johannesburg sales/logistics team, to increase the service levels on bulk supply.

April 2010: Cheryl Thomas, who has the most wide-ranging experience with our clients engineering items, joins the Johannesburg Sales Department.

February 2010: Financial results see Axis House again achieve its best year ever.  The cost of investments made in R&D, has continued to pay dividends.  We have been able to make our clients more economic and competitive in the most grueling financial times.

February 2010: Valarie Stubbs joins the Johannesburg team in the Logistics Department.

December 2009: Axis House holds its annual cocktail party in Johannesburg, link to photos will follow, watch this space!

September 2009: Marie-Helene Ayeri joins the Johannesburg office where she will handle Axis House's ever growing imports.

July 2009: Axis House buys AMML in Australia. www.amml.com.au

May 2009: Axis House holds its annual conference in Cape Town, where it welcomes its latest Australian colleagues.

June 2009: Axis House officially buys the Chemical Division of Ausmelt Limited.

April 2009: Jules and Gonzalo travel to Australia to visit AMML a metallurgical services provider - to exchange ideas and to learn about the effect of high intensity conditioning in copper oxide flotation.

April 2009: Gonzalo Bernal is in the USA doing on-site test-work on some copper oxides.

March 2009: Axis House has signed Heads of Agreement, to buy the Chemicals Division of Ausmelt Limited - Australia - This gives clients access to new technology and also gives Axis House scope for global growth.

February 2009: Team Axis House - Summits Mt Kilimanjaro.

 

February 2009: Susan Burnie joins the team in Johannesburg. Susan has had many years experience in the in the corporate world and will handle the Axis House Johannesburg front desk operation.

 

January 2009: Donna is promoted into a logistics position

November 2008: JHB office moves to bigger premises at Knightsbridge Manor which was celebrated in style early December at the annual Axis House cocktail party.

 

November 2008: Team Axis House comes 29th in the Coronation Double Century - 200km team cycling race, a 200km team time trial.

 

October 2008:  Anne-Marie Kirsten has joined the Cape Town team as office coordinator. 

 

August 2008: Ryan Barham has joined the team as full-time trainee Lab Assistant.

 

August 2008: Donna Bothma joins Axis House Johannesburg. 

 

July 2008: Kim Walmisley Crown has joined Axis House and heads up the Axis House bulk materials handling and transport division. 

April 2008: Justine Sibanda joins our Johannesburg logistics team to handle warehouse/product control.

 

September 2007: Jay Padayachee has joined the Axis House team.

 

July 2007: Research and development. Axis House welcomes Jules Kitenge. Jules Kalombo Kitenge holds a degree in chemical engineering /mineral processing from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.  He worked for a year for Tibsen Technology optimizing resin technology for wine cellars in the Western Cape then joined in 2002 the University of Cape Town Center for Minerals Research (CMR) where he was involved in flotation reagents evaluation, communition and flotation processes optimization. Jules will be based in the Cape Town research lab, and will be involved in  R and D projects for clients and suppliers. Jules’ background and fluency in French will improve the interface with our clients in the DRC.

 

July 2007: We welcome Lynne Morris, Lynne has many years of logistics and shipping experience. Lynne was involved with Protea Polymers where she managed deliveries to a diverse customer base over a wide geographical area. Her skills will be appreciated in our growing business.

 

June 2007: Linda Lukusa has started. Linda is currently completing her last year at Damelin where she has been reading hear Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing and Business Management. Linda will enter the Axis House commercial training programme for the balance of the year and will be offered a full time position from 1st January 2008.

 

Laboratory: We are pleased to advise that the Metallurgical Laboratory in Cape Town has now been commissioned and is running at full capacity. This service has already been of great value to our clients. Analysis of samples is done on site, with our Perkin Elmer AA or by Thermo-Niton XRF where appropriate. We will be concentrating our efforts on improving existing reagent suites for our clients – as well as the development of entirely new reagents based on the current technologies available. This is an interactive process – where the client and reagent producers are heavily involved in the R and D process. We plan to have this facility ISO accredited.

 

January 2007: Axis House has started installing a Metallurgical Laboratory where we will be researching and developing reagent solutions for our mining clients. The targeted date of completion and commissioning will be the 15 February 2007

 

November 2006: Remy Kaniky joins the Axis House team in Katanga Province, DRC. Remy will be responsible for the logistics involved in the process optimization procedure that we offer in the DRC - Collection and shipment of ore, water and slurry from the processing facilities of our clients and thereafter the delivery of suitable reagents to be analyzed on site in the DRC.

 

August 2006: Axis House commissions a sedimentation lab at our technical headquarters in Cape Town. Axis House is able to offer the service of flocculent selection, dosage and performance optimization.

 

August 2006: Louise Merrifield joins the team, a warm welcome! A formidable colleague from days gone by, Louise has vast experience in import and export shipping and thus has been employed to head up the Axis House shipping division. We look forward to a long and happy partnership.

 

March 2006: Axis House welcomes Gonzalo Bernal as Product Manager: Reagents, Gonzalo received a BSc. in Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town and has been tasked to develop newly available reagents. He will be spending lots of time in the labs, and we hope to see him in the office every now and then.
